Hiroshima

The first picture shows a memorial to the victims of the A-bomb, which includes a photograph of the flattened city. The photographer, Shigeo Hayashi, noted: "I hope that I am the last man to take such a picture and that we will have a world in which no one will ever again take such a picture anywhere on earth."

Below are photos of the former Industrial Promotion Hall. Now known as the "A Dome". The building was close to the centre of the WW2 atomic explosion.
